Made in Malaysia

June 24, 2006

You know how the saying goes support Malaysian goods? You know the latest installment of The Fast and The Furious? Well guess what, the earliest copy of the cinema cam pirated movie came out on Gnutella and other P2P networks early this week from a few sources with the same IP address range and apparently it was recorded in a cinema in Malaysia!

Pirated2
Yellow teeth, something you only find in the Asian version. NOT! Look at the subtitles, tada!

Honestly, really, I got these shots from my own copy of it, but I truthfully only downloaded it to see Vin Diesel’s part which is unfortunately not recorded, so I’m about to delete it anyway as we speak. Moving on, how did I spot this local brand film?

1. The subtitles are not only in BM, it’s also the version written by a Malaysian, I forgot the name but it’s included at the end of the movie, just before the credits roll, you’ll notice it.

2. The screen presumably looks like a cinema 1-3 at a TGV because it has a warped wide screen and center divider for the audience, not found in other local cinemas.

3. I can hear some guy going "bugger so terer!" when Takashi was drifting his 350z up the spiral parking driveway.

4. An excerpt of a Bahasa Malaysia dialogue can be heard for a while during the butt-grabbing scene (I believe)

5. The people wow endlessly at the wrong stuff.

This thing, I’m guessing right now approximately 98 people have copies of it that are on Gnutella 2, needless to say torrent go-ers should have a higher figures. It’s no wonder we’re being blamed for the movie industry’s loss! First we sell them, then we copy them and now we even record them ourselves! Expect to see this version out on the streets, either that or a US version. Either way, it’s coming soon. and that’s bad by the way!

Donkey Kong?

I mean seriously, why do you wanna pirate a movie with Sung Kang in it? The dude’s so good I’d pay for the 35mm copy and watch it over and over again! I’m kind of in a neutral state, I have no idea why a small part of me feels proud but of course the rest says otherwise. You be the judge.

For now I know

WYSIWYG

June 23, 2006

*This is by the way my 100th post!

That stands for What You See Is What You Get just incase you didn’t know, and no this isn’t one of those fuck-off-posers-if-you-dont-like-my-blog posts because I’m just tired of dealing with idiots like that. When will people learn the proper terminoligy of the sentence this is my blog and I do whatever I want with it. No, seriously, if you actually gave a worthy comment then I’d accept it with open arms, but people like Ashley always gives stupid comments (go figure.. stupid comments – stupid person) like "hey your blog sucks" or "i think what you like is crappy" when he himself can’t write one straight.

Anywho, I said I wouldn’t be rambling about that, so I won’t. Instead, I’ll be writing about the human desires and wants in something. I was watching the MotoGP race at Catalunya, Spain last week and if you watched it yourself you’d know that there was a massive crash just after the start at the first turn causing the whole race to stop. I’d be wasting my time if I told you who crashed, so let’s move on.

Nice one Sete.. nice one!

From this race, I learned that many people actually enjoy and are enticed only when they see spectacular events like this take place. I remember telling a friend about MotoGP, but he says it’s boring somehow. I agree, racing is just like football, how do people actually enjoy gazing at 20 people running back and forth on a field and every half an hour cheering like they just won the state lottery just because the people in the TV kicked the ball into that contraption fitted with a net. But yes, in the midst of conversations about football daily (and being in the centre and also the ‘kaki bangku’ box), these people always only seem excited about tackles, and crazy shot attempts, and god knows what, and besides I’m no footie.

But as I was reading along in boards netwide about the Catalan race, suddenly people are all hooked up with moto after the crash? I mean, what if you don’t see a crash – then it’s boring? Overtaking using litrebikes that have more power than your puny Kelisa or Satria is a skill already and most people can’t appreciate that.

What I’m trying to say is, apply this to normal daily routines and you’ll see what I mean. People always tend to look something different in someone/something else, except this different feature is kind of in the grey area. From what I see, ‘popular’ people are always labelled so because they did something bad or they are engaged in something stupid or blah blah blah. Nobody likes the teacher that always gives them good advice, and everybody like the teacher who gets an errection everytime he talks to SCHOOLGIRLS and lets certain people off when they bring their cellphones to class.

When do people get interested in doing something physical? Ask them to pick up trash and they see no incentive to do so. I know I said bad, but what I meant was Bad Boys II bad, not smelly feet bad. I don’t know if it’s because humans tend to opt for the things they are least able to do in their choices or they just want some plain fun.

You know shit’s getting bad when younger peers come up to you telling you that they wanna live like Americans, not having any rules and literally no religion. Apparently it’s either "cool" or at least cool -er to be like people from the O.C. and crap now, spending (mom’s) money like the mindlessly rich is in, and moral values are out. And the younger generation wants that, that’s what I can’t understand. (and no seriously, I’m so sick of love songs too)

Suddenly now everyone wants to get pregnant at 14, suddenly everyone wants to smoke weed, suddenly everyone wants to take off their side mirrors, suddenly everyone wants to start a crappy band, and of course suddenly everyone wants to drive daddy’s car out on a Saturday night to the city just to get laid by a stranger. It looks sad now, but it’s gonna get a whole lot pathetic soon I tell you.

Exhausted..

Billy

Say hello to little Billy. Recently Billy has been noticing some changes. He's starting to have opinions, he has questions he can't answer all by himself, and he has the inexplicable urge to tell someone – OMFG STEAM R0X0RZZZ TEH BIG!11ONEONE (read : oh my fucking god Steam roxorz the big! one one one one)

Now, little Billy knows the healthy place to express these feelings is in the Steam forums. Wohoho! Slow down there little Billy, you're not ready to start a new thread just yet. Heh, looks like you've got some more learning to do first (you dumb ass..). Before you go a'clicking the New Thread button, you should ask yourself several questions.

First, will the thread contribute to the forum? If you have an opinion, back it up with reason. If you have a question, provide enough information so others can help you. And, if you just have something to say, say it respectfully. (shut up and go outside, you forum whore!)

Second, has it been posted before? One of the forum's best kept secret is the Search button. This handy little fella will allow you to find threads of days gone by. Simply enter in some basic keywords and hit 'Perform Search'. It's really that easy! and remember, IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO POST IN AN EXISTING THREAD THAN TO START A NEW ONE! Ehem. Another pro tip is to check the forum's stickies, the threads listed at the top of the forum next to the words read first. You don't want all the kids laughing at you because you had a question that was answered in a stickie, now do you? Ho ho ho ho! no you dont..

And Third, am I in the right forum? Read the description of each forum and decide which one best suits your thread.

Well Billy, it looks like you're ready to start posting! and you too!

SRM Ahoy!

Srm
This is the latest picture of Proton’s upcoming new model, the SRM, which stands for Satria Replacement Model or also known to some as the Proton Neo. This picture got to me from a friend, but I suspect the picture came from this blog. Anywho, this picture was taken at the Proton plant in Tanjung Malim (Proton City) and it clearly shows a number of SRMs in ready to sell form all prepped up for it’s launch.

Proton, being Proton has been delaying the SRM launch for quite a while and even missed the KL International Motorshow in premiering the SRM eventhough it was promised that the car would be launched in April. But as you can see, it’s finally materializing and it should be on the launch platform as soon as Dr. M and Pak Lah is ready to make it official. The previously rumoured launch date was end of May, but still no avail.

The SRM has quite an European look and finish to it, but it still remains loyal to it’s Satria class design – a sporty and rugged look. The pro hatchback will be available in 1.3 and 1.6 litre and will be priced around almost the same price as the Gen2. Looks to me like it’s a hatchback version of a Gen2, as it’s also using the same Campro engine found in the Gen2 and Waja Campro, but I really hope the whole Campro experience would be unleashed with this car, as the Campro has lack some promised technologies and is being limited for now as the current version of the Campro is still.. not final. Typical of Proton, no, to release something early in the midst of rushing to get it’s product to the market despite sacrificing some important features of the engine.

However, Proton is also in the makes of a 1.8 litre version of the Campro and this may be fitted onto a future version of the SRM, sort of similar to how the Satria came out with a 1.3 engine and eventually the GTi arrived with a 1.8 engine. We’ll have to wait to see, but for now await the launch and debut on national roads.
